SENIOR ASSOCIATE

The ideal candidate for the position of Senior Associate has a Master’s in Urban Planning or related field (e.g., Land Use Planning, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering) and a minimum 12 years of direct professional experience in the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documentation and progressive planning experience.

This position requires CEQA/NEPA expertise, project management experience, staff management experience (workload scheduling, staff supervision, training and mentoring), marketing skills, client interaction, excellent report writing, computer and quantitative skills. Responsibilities include business development, oversight of all TAHA documents, project management and preparation of various environmental documents in accordance with CEQA/NEPA mandates, proposal preparation, data analysis, and public presentations.

SENIOR PLANNER

The ideal candidate for the position of Senior Planner has a Bachelor’s in Urban Planning or related field (e.g., Land Use Planning, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering) and minimum 5 to 7 years of direct professional experience in the management and preparation of CEQA/NEPA documentation. A Master’s Degree may be substituted in lieu of one year of experience.

This position requires excellent report writing, computer and quantitative skills. Responsibilities include project management and preparation of various environmental documents in accordance with CEQA/NEPA mandates, proposal preparation, data analysis, and participation in business development. Client interaction and coordination experience required. Must have knowledge and/or experience with transportation projects, institutional projects, and planning projects.

PLANNER


The ideal candidate for the position of Environmental Planner has a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field (e.g., Land Use Planning, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering) and a minimum 3 to 5 year of direct professional experience in the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documentation. A Master’s Degree may be substituted in lieu of one year of experience. No recent graduates should apply for this position.

This position requires excellent report writing, computer and quantitative skills. Responsibilities include preparing various environmental documents in accordance with CEQA/NEPA mandates, assisting in the management of projects, research, and data analysis. Client interaction and coordination experience required. Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

ASSISTANT PLANNER

The preferred candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field and minimum two years of direct experience. A Master’s Degree may be substituted in lieu of experience.

Must be familiar with word processing (Word, Excel, WordPerfect, etc.), be well organized and have the ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). Experience with GIS and air quality and noise modeling is a plus, but not required. Spanish is also a plus. TAHA will provide extensive in-office training in all aspects of environmental document preparation, including but not limited to air quality and noise modeling, health risk assessments, 3-D modeling for visual analysis, proposal preparation, and graphic preparation. Responsibilities shall include research, site reconnaissance, noise and air quality modeling, data analysis, field monitoring, and assistance in the preparation of CEQA/NEPA compliance documentation.

ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING INTERN

The preferred candidate is a self-motivated individual who is interested in gaining valuable experience in the environmental planning field. The successful candidate shall provide support to the planning staff in the form of research (internet and in-house), assisting in the preparation of environmental documents, and site reconnaissance, as well as some general office assistance. Full and part-time hours are available. Must have a valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
