Description:
TAHA prepared an EIR for a 160,000-square-foot cathedral complex in downtown Los Angeles. The key issues raised by the project were loss of parking, traffic impacts, archaeological impacts and noise. The noise issue was specifically related to the proposal to construct a 50-foot tall bell tower and use of 36 bells, currently housed at the San Fernando Mission. TAHA estimated the noise impact of the bells on adjacent sensitive land uses such as the Angeles Plaza Elderly housing project.
